Our Mission:To educate and inform our communities about the dangers of prescription drug misuse and improper disposal as well as develop strategies to combat this epidemic problem.
About Us: The Task Force was formed in February 2013 because the Brazoria County Community Coalition (BCCC) recognized a need to address the growing epidemic of prescription drug abuse in Brazoria County. The Task Force is made up of committed individuals representing law enforcement, education, health care and mental health services, nonprofits, other concerned citizens, and youth.
We are working to ensure every community in Brazoria County has at least one permanent disposal site for prescription drugs.
We work with community partners to educate and inform the community about the dangers of misusing prescription drugs.
We disseminate messages to help raise awareness and change the perceptions about prescription drug abuse.
We did it! Permanent Rx Disposal in Brazoria County is now available at seven police departments in Brazoria County. This service is free! Bring all pills or patches for safe disposal to the police stations in Angleton, Alvin, Clute, Freeport, Lake Jackson, Richwood, and Sweeny.
